Could any DB9 owners advise whether they use standard or Super Unleaded in their 9?

Also I would be interested in people's views on supermarket fuels vis a vis BP,Shell etc.

Thanks

hasnt this been debated for years on every car website LOL wink

personally I put whatever the best stuff is available at the convenient garage I have stopped at, whether that is 97 at BP or 99 at Tesco

modern production engines are mapped to cope with some pretty crap 95 RON, so anything you put in is generally fine smile

Thanks for that

The book says 98 RON but my DB7 said 95 RON, hence the reason for asking if anyone used 95 with any issues.

I have happily used supermarket (or indeed any stuff as you say) for a few years but recently someone who knows his stuff alluded to the fact that he felt that certain supermarkets were not too fussy over whether water got in the tanks or not.

cheers

Personally, I use the best I can get at wherever I stop. I don't think a tankful of 95 hurts once in a while. I've never noticed any detrimental effects on the performace. Not quite sure what it does to the injectors tho'. I guess we'll see at the next service.

Thanks for that...

I guess the best way/advice is porbably to mix it up a bit with 95 and 98+ then. I think I will start to avoid supermarkets from now on though just in case...

Gents,

Their was an independent study performed on the various petrol octanes and the results showed there wasnt any improvements.
Its like buying the more expense meals to a basic meal, performs the same need but just costs you more.
