Have been doing it for about a year now I think.
I would imagine it's the same kit.
Now, if someone were to do this for 400 quid all in I may be interested. But I believe there's a box of tricks or two which precludes that price point at present.
You can also buy MOST (electronics name) interface boxes to DIY it. But this may be tricky without experience.
I'm still using CDs burned at under 10p a pop when I get bored, and have a Griffin iTrip for longer trips (which is OK, but not perfect).

Do our head units in 07+ model year cars play cd's with mp3 files? Thats the simplest way of getting lots of songs into your car.
Personally, not driving the V8V that often, I'm pretty happy just taking 6 cds with me, and another load in a pouch that fits neatly into the cubby hole between the seats.
I must say that the 700 watt audio system in my car is absolutely fantastic!!
