Just wondering if any body else has heard of this problem. Was driving along a country road at the weekend in normal temperatures and all of a sudden there was a loud 'pop' and my DB9 coupe rear windscreen completely shattered. I doubt I was going fast enough for a stone or rock to cause this damage and my dealer can't explain it. There was no sign of any impact point. Any thoughts?

Seems its quite common - search the posts on here and other forums for chapter and verse

Yes - it is a known fault and your car should have had a service bulletin addressing this if it has been in for service.

hi bunnyman first of all did you have the heated rear screen on, the fault mentioned by the others is usually only when the rear screen is frozen and the rapid heating of the rear screen heater elements causes it to break, there is a fix via a simple reflash which cyles the rear screen heater elements on and off, let me have the last six digits of your chassis number and i will check if this has been done on yours,

if the rear screen was not on then no this is not a common issue,

Thanks for all replies. Rick DMS - I cannot remember if I had the heater on specifically at the time but it was on and off throughout the day as there was a lot of rain and condensation. The temperature was about 20 degrees at the time and I had driven around 200 miles before it happened. So the cold was not a problem as such.

sounds like it could be related to the known fault, cold rain on a hot screen, pm me the last six digits of the chassis number,
