Commission sales
Discussion
I recently sold a car via a trader for a £1300 fee
I tried to sell a £30K car privately and out of 10 "interested" parties, 2 were real and not scammers. After 3 weeks of hassle, then it went to a dealer on sale or return
the dealer doesnt have any risk, but can offer finance, p/x/ 3 month warranty (by law I think) so it appeals to a lot more buyers, who dont have the cash, and want the security of a dealer sale, but they get to buy at a private price, rather than a dealer one
we put the car on sale or return, within 24hours it was viewed twice and sold within 3 days
for the sake of £1000 -1500, in future I shall not bother with the hassle of trying to sell expensive cars privately
im not sure what these "brokers" do - I preferred to use an indie trader, with real premises I could visit and see my car at, rather than just someone who rings up on the phone wanting to market your car virtually
