Hmmm advice on my vantage pls

Some advice please. Yesterday I was driving around town when my vantage (4.7 a month old) suddenly lost power / stalled. It hapened twice. Each time obviously I lost the powersteering and upon a quick press - release - press of the ecu the engine roared back to life. Big thing to take into account was the "smooth" way it lost power no juddering at all.
Tonight have been out for about 45 min trying to get it to do it again when I was ready for it but nothing happened. What I thought I noticed, (and note I have done less than 1500 miles so my experience is limited) was the power steering occasionally felt heavier as I slowed and approached a junction.
As I say it could be me but thought I would ask here. Anyone else had similar experiences or thoughts on this?

josh give Aston assistance a call you will find them very helpful,and get it checked it may be something that will never happen again or then again it may continue, try to give as much detail as possible as in engine hot cold pulling up to a junction etc etc it can all help with diagnosis,
Take it to the dealer and drop off the keys. There is another thread on here that covers this issue

Then ask them to look at that thread. The advice from different garages is different from new fuel tank to reflash the ECU to all sorts....

Oh dear. Not good news. This was the bane of my life for 18months until it was finally sorted. Good luck in getting it sorted as it really puts the dampers on what should be a brilliant car.

This is bizarre - having just read the 'Engine briefly cutting out' thread and now this, I'll add my twopenth worth!
My car is an Oct 07 and has only done 3500 miles - on Sunday was out for drive and had the engine cut out! I'd stopped at a set of traffic lights / 'box junction' to join a motorway and selected N, (Sportshift) came to engage first, but couldn't?? Bit of a panic then realised the engine had died. Re-started and pulled forward to the next line, to enter the slip road and again - full set of dash lights and no motion??
Engine re-started with no problem and I powered off down the slip road with no further issues. I put it down to possible heat soak caused by the current lovely weather? It was about 23C - hardly excessive.
I'm trying to be positive and hoping this was a one off as it's not done it before or since.

I have a 2 month old 4.7 Coupe. Have done around 1100 miles. Did about 200 miles last thursday and just as I was pulling into my road, it cut out and lost power steering. I thought i had stalled it so hit ecu and re-engaged, started fine and finished the journey. Might well have stalled it but having read this, concerned mine might have a deeper issue. Only happened once to date... Should the power steering go when stalled?
Guys I think we have two separate issues here...
1/ The V8 is easy to stall if you lift the clutch without enough revs.... particularly in reverse, the 4.7 is a fair bit worse than the 4.3 on this front. I would suggest if you are pulling away when the problem occurs it is a stall problem.
2/ There does also appear to be a throttle/fuel/engine management issue that is affecting the cars, causing a pause in power delivery, ranging from a brief stutter to big pause! Mine is only a brief stutter & it only occurs when I lift right off the throttle for some reason & then quickly re-apply it quite firmly, then the car can (only on occasion) "hic-up".

Sportshifts CAN stall. It's still got a clutch after all. If your on a gradient and relying on the 'creep' function it'll stall. Creep is supposed to get you going smoothly. Personally I think it's a waste of time. Not really heard of 4.7's cutting out though. I know about the fault that other people mention but that shouldn't affect the newer cars.
found out why mines had issues
1) You need to reset the clutch on sportshift occasionally. when you start in neutral depress the brake for about 30 seconds till you here a click/clunk
2) Speedbumps confuse the mass sensor so after going over one it may not accept throttle - takes a while then it goes again, very dangerous when pulling out ! Turn of traction control if lots of speed bumps around
