A lady bus driver decided to pull into my lane in order to miss the front of a car and in the process ripped of my passengers side mirror off.
Luckily i still have the motor and mirror (un broken somehow) so just need the casing.

Does anyone know if they do the top cover in Tungsten Silver finish or will i have to get it sprayed?
I also need to get the bottom cover as well.
Does anyone know a cost for these?

Luckily there was no wing damage and the mirror bracket is all fine!!!

Hi Dafydd hope you are well, first the good news the upper casing is available and costs £8.94 including vat but you will have to get it painted i can supply colour code for yours if required, bad news lower cover is not available separately

Alls well, thanks Rick.

That must be the cheapest part Aston do.
What do i have to buy for the bottom cover then and have you got a rough price?
Cheers

Rick, thanks for this.
Are they easy to install?
My thinking is order both the mirror assembly and top cover from you and get the top cover sprayed at a local garage and fit the rest.

I am debating with the bus company over this as the lady accepted responsibility and now she doesn’t.
They have got CCTV footage so luckily this will back me up providing they do not deny they have got it!

hi dafydd they are not difficult to fit just require a bit of care, i can provide a step by step fitting instructions if required, you should contact the bus company as by the time you have bought the mirror got it sprayed and fitted, never mind the inconvenience, the costs soon add up,

If it was the bus drivers fault why arent you taking this through your insurance?

And what does the gender of the bus driver have to do with anything?

When the accident happend the lady took responsibly and said sorry and put her hands up.
The next morning i spoke to the transport manager who says they are not taking responsibly until they view the on board CCTV.
As soon as they see this they will have to admit liability, however this could be up to 10days from the report.

My pain is i want a nice looking car, not a missing left hand mirror hence why i want to get it sorted and then worry about the cost later on.
I have informed my insurance company of what has happend just so they have it on record.

i know dafydd personally and found him respectful and intelligent and in now way condescending and reading his post i do no read it as sexist or derogative towards gender, it seems that it is a fact that as he put it "a lady bus driver" avoided hitting the car in front, so swerved for what ever reason into another lane and damaged his car, please let me know at which point does it become Dafydds fault apart from wrong place wrong time and victim of circumstances,if it was your car, Aston or otherwise how would you react, redface
