Hi,

Thinking of getting me a V8 Roadster, but wonder when the update happened. I have done a little search but not found anything.

Did the Roadster get launched with the 4.3 engine and much the same spec at the coupe at the time? Or did the roadster get launched with all the upgrades in the same way that Lamborghini face lifted the Gallardo coupe at the same time as launching the spyder?

If someone has the time, could you tell me when and what updates happened please.

Trying to figure out which model to go for. smile

Cheers,
Greg

Roadster had upgrades - steering and suspension being major ones I believe!

theres not been a "facelift" as such, just a few tweaks here and there to features inside and such like

the main upgrade has been the 4.7 engine which came in mid 2008

check www.parkers.co.uk for models/options history

Bogie is right the "facelift" didn't affect the exterior design, it introduced the new 4.7 engine, the interior DBS centre consul, sat nav upgrade, suspension (sports pack now available)this was for the 2009MY!
So for the Roadster you will have a choice of

4.3 manual/sports-shift
N400 Special edition (400 horses+ sports-pack & all options + naff map!)manual/sports-shift
4.7 manual/sports-shift

My thoughts on 4.7 engine chassis upgrades below if it helps....................

v8v roadster launched in 2007 (4.3)(MY2007) Same options as coupe but most I looked at were prety well speced out. As above post, updated for MY2009 (The 4.7 Roadster). Incidently just to confuse you you can get a 4.3 (my2008) which has ipod. The difference is in the cup holder behind the gearstick. Silver cup holder at front of arm rest- my2008, black cup holder at back of arm rest- My2007. Sounds confusing but if you look in one you'll see what i mean!

If you are in the market for one, if you can I would certainly buy a MY09. The 4.7 engine with sport pack really completes the car, adding a quicksilver supersports exhaust would not be bad either.. ! For me,I would go for a manual transmission.

Thanks guys.

I was aware that the "facelift" only changed stuff under the skin. I've read Grants 4.7L review and would agree that the 4.7L would be the one to go for, but I have a budget in the 60k region, so a 4.3 roadster will have to do! wink

I'll be considering the Aston engine upgrades and exhaust options too. 4.3L with 420bhp would be nice biggrin

Thanks.
