Porsche Upgrade

Another new Aston Martin convert
At the risk of repeating other previous posts, I wanted to share my delight in my new mode of transport. I've wanted one of these since seeing the concept pictures back in 2003/2004, and now I've finally managed to replace my 996 Carrera 2 with a Vantage N400. It has exceed all my expectations in the few weeks I've had it, and as others have attested, it definitely improves (If that were possible) with familiarity.
Being the N400, it has all the toys you could ever wish for, and a stark contrast to my previous 911. After raiding the options list as far as my budget would allow on that one, I still ended up with a basic car, and who knew MiniDiscs wouldn't take off!
The options are obviously not what these are about however, and to my mind, it's a fantastic fusion between the build quality and dynamic ability of the Carrera (under real world conditions) and the charisma and effervescence of my old TVR Chimaera (traded in for the Porsche). I had the Porsche for nearly 8 years, and (early days yet) hope to keep this one for even longer.

The side skirts are great for picking up dirt from the road.
My rear arches were getting pitted by stones, so had stone guards (mud flaps) fitted and since then no more stone chips. A lot cheaper than a respray!Your car looks really nice and in excellent condition. Congratulations.

I've had to blow in and wet-sand my own stone chips. It was a breeze on my honda civic, but a little nerve-wracking on the aston!

Grab a small sheet of stoneguard - its v similiar to glass impact film and cut out a section to stick over the rear wheelarch.

Trouble is, you can always see it. Mudguards on the front stop most chips to the rear etc, and look pretty well integrated. Dealer threw some in for me (read up on here about issues ).I've had to blow in and wet-sand my own stone chips. It was a breeze on my honda civic, but a little nerve-wracking on the aston!
OP - nice car!
The black suits it perfectly, dark colours really accentuate compound curves on a car. Tough to keep clean though. It could also use a professional detail to really bring out the deep shine.
Number 2's pretty cool, does anyone know where number 1 went? I have number 75.
I used to have a Land Rover Defender 50th Anniversary. That had the 4 litre Rover V8, didin't sound like the TVR or Aston though. I was lucky enough to get hold of Number 001, although sold it on after a few years. Great car but even more thirsty than the vantage.
Thanks for all your comments, some more moody pictures, including the N400 sills...
