Just picked up my new car - so happy about the 4.7 after almost going for a second hand 4.3. I love the new features and the sportspack is great. Driving back from the dealer through a few tunnels really made me appreciate it. Its is an awesome awesome thing however just got home and the sportshift seems to have broken. It wont pull away takes about 10 seconds of juddering before it gets going - it doesnt change gear in DRIVE mode now ! Definitely wasnt doing this before

So my question - what can i expect from dealer / aston with regards to sorting it. I dont want / cant take time to drive it back to dealers 100 miles away ( especially not when its this dangerous ). I dont want to rack up miles when its not my fault its broken. Any examples advice etc about how they will deal with this and what I should expect ?

Shame its slightly depressing my experience although that engine noise is unreal !

Firstly congratulations on your new car. It sounds as if you have acquired a genuine aston biggrin

I think it would be fair to say that if the car is undriveable then the dealer should send a truck to pick the car up and sort the problem out. It sounds totally unacceptable. If you want give Aston a call at their head office for their advice to make sure that the dealer is either keeping his end or going beyond the call of duty.

Have you called Aston Martin Assistance?

If they can't fix it they will recover to the dealer.

nope was going to call them first thing just wanted to know how it all worked and if it would get picked up if not fixed on drive. Also do they provide a courtesy car - DBS would be fine :-)

I am sure that if you call them up they will be with you inside the hour and the car will be transported to the dealers while you will get a suitable courtesy car until they fix whatever it is. Good luck, post pictures! smile

Jimmy, welcome to the Astonitis club for people with permanent grins biggrin

Sorry to hear about your first 'glitch' normally, most faults are just that...'glitches in the system' it's the car way of reminding you it has a soul!

Which region are you in? Have you joined the AMOC? Did the dealer give you free membership for the first year?

Have a good time getting to know your bad boy and pop the fuse out!

Hi

Thanks spec seems to be everything except smoking and first aid. I have an umbrella too though I dont think that will ever be used ! Sportspack and sportshift the big ones that I really keen on.Tungsten black leather with silver coarse stich

Really enjoying it - the noise is awesome but it handles really really well too.

No not joined AMOC - didnt get anything free but was happy with what I paid.

Problem just came back as I pulled up.

Big problem doesnt fit in garage ! ! What are my options - do not want to leave it out although the pureguard should help ?

It should be fine outside. Mine gets left out a lot and it is anyway.

Options?

New garage? Outdoor cover (available from Aston)?

Tonto no its down to girth ! More important so I am told

It goes in without the mirrors folded but I cant actually open the door enough to get out.

Since its sport shift manoeuvring it in is a nightmare anyway !

Move house or buy next doors garage I think !
