Milky front grill on my V8
Discussion
Has anyone else suffered their front grill going milky? Mine is the stand item not the bright version. I have submitted a warranty claim, but have asked if the V12's grill could be fitted as it has less slates and would be easier to clean. Anyone else had similar? Have attached an image of the offending item.
Id like to know just what these dealers are washing it with !
Just use some regular car wash stuff and a rinse with filtered water then wipe the grill dry with the rest of the car - sorted...thats it ..no real need for metal polish
maybe they are in a hard water area or such like ...Id hate to see other cars they wash
get a pro detailer round and im sure they will sort it out properly, and ask them to put some sealant on it afterwards

I think you'll find your grill is the optional "bright" grill the standard one is black. I have an 06 V8 Vantage with the same grill as yours and it also suffers with "water spots" caused by limescale in the rinse.
I've used Autosolve, not got rid of it completly but a lot better. Also when washing its better to do it yourself and make sure the grill is absolutely dry.

its a real metal grill
it will get marked unless you look after it properly
it really wants some sort of sealant on it, to stop stuff getting to it - even water is bad enough to mark untreated aluminium eventually
maybe we should ask Aston to use plastic grills in future to save us cleaning them properly

I have suffered this to distraction and have tried every single stainless cleaner know to mankind!
I now use the new ICE polish on it and it works a treat to coat it and keep it shiney.

I also use this polish on my car as it polishes the black bits at the same time, is very easy to apply and buff up and gives a great shine.

Now this theory may sound daft but I've had the same sort of issue on the grill of my Vantage. Couldn't work out why the marks wouldn't polish out and then.... most of the marks were a reflection of the blemishes from the underside of the blade above! So I made sure the undersides of the blades were dried and polished with the result of a clear reflection from it in the blade beneath.
