There is an advert in the classifieds for a N400 roadster that claims that only 21 RHD models were made (out of the 240 in total). This seems low - any thoughts ?

Quite possible since that is only a little short of 10%.

I suspect the US had more than the UK, and one German dealer seemed to have a rather excessive number at one point! Not bad since they were only meant to be available to a dealer in return for a confirmed legitimate order ....

If it's Karussell Orange then it is actually one of only 5 RHD roadsters, assuming it was a UK-delivered car ....

.... in total, there were 29 coupes and 15 roadsters in orange worldwide.

It did occur to me after making the post that some RHDs might have made it to other countries, hence I edited to add "UK-delivered". I assume there might be other markets.

Not sure if the rest of the world agrees with you on that.
I for one like the Karussell orange, however it is not a good seller.
Lancaster Cambridge had a '08 Karussell Orange N400 roadster with 6kmiles for sale back in Dec08/Jan09 for only £59,995 and it too some time to shift!

The car is now back on the market for substantially more money, see if it sell!

The problem with K. orange is that it really doesn't photograph well, unless you take the time to tweak the image. The number of people who have been surprised when they have seen my car in the flesh, in the sun, is pretty much proof of that!

Comment is usually "I thought orange would look awful but it really is stunning!". I guess that kept the numbers down, which is good .... wink

Thanks for the responses. I was told at the time of purchasing my 'berwerk black' roadster that there were no more orange available otherwise I would have chosen it despite the general low popularity of the colour. It is absolutely stunning in the flesh.

Although there appears to be some diffence of opinion I think that my interpretation of the answers is that the number quoted for RHD vehicles is correct ( or near enough - I assume that only 10% go RHD markets) and therefore the number in the UK is lower still (unless anyone believes that they have the definitive number)
