Hi Guys
I am finally taking the plunge and ordering a set of 200 cell sport cats from Larini. I saw and heard a while back HWM's one off V8 nick named strippy which they had added these too (left the standard back box). It sounded fantastic, particularly under light throttle. Has anyone else done this, or does someone on the forum own strippy as she has been sold? Car was called strippy as she had a pair of viper strips across her. Not personally my taste but it certainly looked different.

200 Cell Cats sound fantastic on the Vantage, especially when you've got a sports exhaust system. Do your research though - some companies cats throw check engine lights on a pretty regular basis, you've got to use pretty high quality ones or you'll end up regretting it.

Have done 3500 miles in this old girl and never got tired of the sound!

Have also now decided to go with AM's Power Upgrade. So I should get a very interesting result. Cats are by Larini and 'so they say' delivery an extra 32 bhp with the AM upgrade adding another 20 bhp. So if I get a net gain of say 40 bhp plus a good slug of extra torque I'll be happy.

Liking the black wheels on yours. Mines the same colour so interesting to see that combo. Food for thought.

I seem to remember a bloke on AMOC only getting 17BHP from both the Larini cats and backbox.

32bhp ain't going to happen.

I am optimistic too that the cats on their own cannot give 30 bhp odd - I agree that is unlikely (the back box is a waste of time). That why I said a combination of the AM Power Upgrade with the 200 cell sports cats added should see a tidy gain in both performance and sound. As mentioned the cats help further with the added breathing the performance kit is bringing. Its the combination of both parts which give a significant power increase.

I would guess that with the factory induction upgrade, a remap, sports cats and rear box you should see a real 20-30bhp ...which would be nice of course. If you can spend say £5-6K on a few bits and get close to a 4.7 Vantage then it will be a worthwhile exercise smile

You got it Bogie, thats what I am aiming for. Cost will be just under £5K. I have been sitting on the fence for a while reading loads here and in various publications. From what I have gleaned this is the most promising option. Should be interesting.

I believe the OE cats have a 200cell cat with a 400 cell one directly after it (don't quote me on this though its been a while since I researched this). A set of 100 cell cats would almost defiantly throw the engine check light.

It is possible to get the 4.3 quicker than the 4.7 for under £5k, although the 4.7 will still be a bit more torquey, but we have been told by many customers that the 4.3 with a complete power kit is more fun to drive.

PM me if you want to know more about getting your 4.3 competing with the 4.7 cars.
