The gear change on my 06 seems to have gained a slightly "rubbery" feel to it that I'm sure wasn't there before.

I have been used to the change being manly and precise with a define "snick" about it - but no longer !

It still selects gears perfectly but there is a vague feeling that something inside is "cushioning" it.

Are there rubber bushes or spacers/grommets etc in and around the gear change linkage that might have deformed or moved do you think ?

on top of the gearbox/transaxle the cables can become insecure this usually leads to not being able to select some gears or stuck in a gear, another problem is the socket that mounts to the selector on the top of the box is fitted in a rubber surround and can split giving the sensation you describe, don't leave it too long before getting it checked as if these fail you may not be able to drive it,

Rick you are an angel - posted 30 seconds ago and have an answer already! (If only "dating" websites were as slick eh ?!!!)

In which case there's no need to answer the fuel filler release topic which I started at the same time, as they can sort it out when it goes in for this !

Thanks again
