V8V Emission Warning
Discussion
Changed down from 4th to 3rd today and on came a light, followed by a message saying Emission System Service Required. Is this a Fuse 22 related warning ? Refitted fuse and message remains, so guessing it has to be reset somehow. Anyone had this, and is it a 5 minute job to get the warning cleared ?

Aha, just found another thread on this topic from back in Feb. So concensus is that this is not a F22 issue but a more generic fault. Wondering if I'll get the sharp intake of breath when I go back to the dealership though as they commented on the fact that F22 was out when I had the alarm tags replaced recently and said "it's fine but it can bring up the service light sometimes".
hi fuse 22 does not bring on the warning, it does flag a code that is stored in the ecu but that is all many dealers have been none to remove the fuse, a change in driving style ie pottering around then lets say driving more aggressively can trigger the warning, the warning will sometimes reset itself if it does not pick up the same fault code within about 10 drive cycles, (drive cycle means engine is driven from a cold through to hot engine), If it is the usual codes we get about cat efficiency or lambda sensor not switching a quick reset will sort it, If the car is driving normally then usually it not something to worry about,If the car drops into a limited power mode get it checked as soon as possible further damage can be caused if continued to drive, the same applies if the engine seems lumpy or just not the same as before the warning came on,
I've just bought a 2007 Vantage with 5100 miles. Yesterday after a two hundred mile trip down and back the mid coast of California with no problems whatsoever, that changed when I got off the freeway and nearly home. A mile off the freeway at a stop light my motor at idle would not allow me to accelerate AT ALL. The throttle was inactive. A quick turn off and back on got me going the last mile to my garage. Then entering my garage the 3 messages "Emission System Service Required"; triangle with ! inside; icon of motor appeared. None flashing and all in amber color. Since this all happened Saturday after the dealer had closed I've had to rely on what I could find on the internet and did find dialog regarding the three messages that appeared might having been caused by gas cap related issues. However I've found nothing so far on why my engine locked at idle. Any thoughts?
(Please see my recent previous message for context) I got through to the service dept. of the dealer I bought the Vantage from and he advised me to fill the tank with gas, drive it to see if messages would reset and to see if engine would fail again. I did so and the three warning lights/messages I mentioned previously reappeared. I drove the car for about six miles and at a stop the engine did as before which was to lock at idle. Nothing happened when I stepped on accelerator. I restarted, drove the mile home, contacted the service dept. and they are going to tow the car (their dime) the sixty miles to the dealership in order to fix. I'll keep you posted and again thanks for the previous help. Deacon

I just heard from the dealer and was told the problem to both concerns (see previous posts) were related to the fly by wire throttle pedal sensor. Parts need to ordered from the UK and MAYBE I'll have the car back by Friday.
Same happened to mine. You'll need a new throttle body and sensor assembly.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
