Now I'm confused.
I've googled it and have seen various posts like
"The only downside to uncorking the exhaust is that you lose ~10 lb/ft of torque below 4,000 rpm (on the V8)."
"Actually there is a torque LOSS by pulling the fuse"
I can't say I have noticed any difference on either my previous or current cars.I've googled it and have seen various posts like

I've had switch fitted to both my 4.3l and 4.7l AMV8s in order to be able to select normal exhaust sound or loud as required. I have heard that there is possibly a slight torque loss with the exhaust on 'loud' but in my opinion it is not at all discernable. The switch is a modification that can be carried out by any AM Dealer at a cost of (choke, choke) around £300.00.

I had been quoted £500 for Works Service to do it.
I'm sure I was charged £180 + vat when I had mine fitted by Works Service last April. Newport Pagnell's inflation rate must be the same as Zimbabwe's.Anyhow, I don't notice any loss of torque or power, just an increase in the number of admiring glances.
i have been looking through the specs and can not find anything about torque loss when removing fuse 22, secondly fitting a sports exhaust, which do not have the flaps at all, further reduces back pressure, but all the specs graphs from such as larini and quicksilver etc show a torque increase even at low revs, gt where did you get the specs you are referring too, just curious as obviously conflicting reports, i can't say when roadtesting that i have noticed a difference either way, except for that great noise at lower revs,

Anyhow, I don't notice any loss of torque or power
Really? I thought you would use this as an excuse for your lack of pace

It's a remote control 12v powered relay switch, meaning you can put it inline with your Fuse 22 and use the remote fob to effectively "pull fuse" whenever you want without having to run a wire from the boot to your dash. And it's about £10, so if you're handy with some wirecutters you could do the job in no time yourself. (That particular item may not handle the ampage but you could get one that does)DW
