Maybe so but you can't really blame the moderators of any forum for caution .... after all, we do now live in a "sue them for all their worth" society now ....
Besides which, those on the AMOC forum will have seen that the forum contacted the dealer themselves and that it might not as clear cut as is suggested .. but no one really knows and it would seem this could be heading to court anyway, which is the right place for it to end up.

They're having a laugh aren't they?Is the AMOC actually an owners club any more? Or is somewhere that simply panders to Aston and its dealers?
My limited exposure to it as a member shows it to be run by the cast of Abigails Party.
years ago I posted on PH about major problems I was having with my TVR Cerbera. PH did not remove my post due to the rules in place at the time and after much heated debate on the forums it actually got me into a replacement car via the factory.
All the factory asked was that I got the post closed !
This wouldn't happen now but I'm all for fair and honest debate in internet forums. It does make you wonder about so called Owners Clubs too

Whilst there are members who own Astons, it's not a club that appears to look after the interests of owners before those of Aston Martin or the dealers.

In the three years I have been a member, this is the first time I have seen such a fuss. I don't recall anything in the past (personally anyway) that has suggested "looking after the interests of AM or the dealers" first.
I have no way of determining the facts behind the story - is the OP right or the dealer?
As with all forums and clubs though, if someone doesn't like it then they don't have to be a part of it ....

Yes quite. But I wonder, for example, if, let's say hypothetically, a dealer or Works Service, gave such a truly appalling service - test driving cars at high speeds, damaging cars (for example), then the owner seems to have no forum for his experience. The AMOC will swiftly delete any reference and the dealer involved will, of course, deny any wrong doing. It's a recipe for irritation.

Seriously though, in this case if the issue is with a main dealer or Works Service then the issue should be lodged with Aston Martin themselves which is more likely to lead to the correct (note 'correct', which may or may not be in the owners favour) than moaning on a forum.

Whilst I agree with that strategy, it ignores the point that an owners club could and should do more to 'appear' to be in support of it's members. It's not just 'moaning on a forum' is it? If you have been unfortunate enough to have your car buggered up by someone, it's 'fair comment' to discuss it on an owners forum I would have thought. Otherwise that forum just turns into a rather sad and bland place to be. Oh, hold on, it is! If, hypothetically, Works Service had done some damage to a car, how supportive would Aston Martin be I wonder?!
I've heard some horror stories recently - and the answer is they weren't.
I guess the problem is that there are always two sides to any story, and the internet is somewhat faceless. And difficult to convey unambiguous meaning through.
The best way to deal with any dispute is to address it directly. And if that doesn't work, and you feel your case is strong enough, pursue it through the courts. If your case isn't strong enough, it's probably not worth posting about and risking causing the owners of the site grief...
Assuming any court judgement goes in your favour, and any settlement doesn't preclude it, posting from there might be an option. But it's probably best to simply invite people to PM you if they ask for an opinion, or simply to note something simple like "avoid".
