Well not actually got her yet (Wed) but thought I would post up a few pictures I have;

Coming from an M3 -> Cayman S -> AM V8;

Is there a better feeling than waiting to pick up your new car? (especially an Aston!)

Jaguar X-Type plate mount doesn't obscure the grille at all, perfect fit! I have one being fitted whilst my car is at the dealers.

Should have my car back within the next couple of weeks, it's currently at Aston's bodyshop having the tailgate dimples attended to. If you can wait I'll take some pics then.

First a showroom car with the X-Type plate holder fitted and the last shot is my car with the new plate holder. So much better I think.

Is that a black grill on the showroom car ?

I just took the entire holder off and fitted the plate direct to the bumper mounting holes, but ever so slightly higher so as not to detract from the lower grill.

Yes, it's a special edition V8 Vantage put together by Stratstone - that car is 1 of 17 hence the number. The wheels, grille, roof and mirrors are black. The work was completed by the local Aston Martin approved bodyshop in Cardiff.

Edit...the bonnet vents are also painted black.

I asked the dealer (Stratstone Aston Martin, Cardiff) to pick one up for me while my car was at their dealership. The Cardiff Jaguar dealer is also Stratstone. The invoice is in the car but I think it was about £22 plus vat.

I predict that Jaguar parts departments will be running low on these very soon, plate and grill now look as they should have done from launch IMO.
Looks great.

Really don't think it'll be a problem. Lot's of UK V8's have plates fitted directly to the front bumper at this lower position - the mount just tidies it up.

Do you happen to have a part number?

I asked my dealer to supply the X-Type front number plate holder, but the item they've provided looks almost identical to the Aston plate holder and is much bigger than the one you're showing in your photos.

DB9's and DBS's just have the plate mounted direct onto the bumber too.

I think the only worry is that if you bump a wall or post when parking, you would crack the plate holder rather than the bumper itself.

I'm still getting used to how much the bonnet sticks out. Its huge!!
