So since I had the car (6 weeks now and loving it every time I press the start button smile)I have left the tracker fob in the mobile phone holder (stupid I know nono) so decided I would take it out and do the right thing.......anyway first time I take the car out afterwards (to work on Friday) I forget the fob - get all the way to work no probs only about 15 mins).........

Anyway, get in the car to go to the gym after work and red light appears on dashboard - odd me thinks, I'll check that out when I get home but it disappears.......also get 2 texts but don't read them bcos driving angel, and thn a phone call fom the nice man at Aston asking if everything is OK....I immediately realise what I'e done and am a little embarrassed, but all is well....

I just thought it was funny I'd managed to get t work without any problems.....I am now trying to work out the best place to keep the fob so I don't forget it again - it seems a little thinck to keep in the wallet.....

Hi you have to be in your car with your phone, then give Eurowatch (aston martin tracking) a call on 01234 759201 they then run you though the pairing process takes no more than 5 mins.

Cool, thanks.....this completely eliminates the need for the fob ?

Hi yes completely and seems more reliable than the tag as well.

Yes, sounds great, until the battrey on your phone dies and the bluetooth cuts out and the Tracker activates! So be careful and carry a car charger.

I use the fob and the bluetooth at the same time and still get an alarm now and then. I have had 4 new fobs and a new tracker unit installed in the car...still goes off.

Also if you leave the car at AML for service you have to leave your phone behind as well - so not ideal.

I found that the best way is to buy a small leather pocket to which the key is attached with a small pocket that houses the fob. I have also added a magnet so that it attaches to the steering column when in use so that it doesn't bounse around.

If i leave my car for service i just leave a tag with them they still work with out the phone present,I always have a car charger in the car anyway so never a problem.
And the phone is always recognised by the car unlike the tags.

Hi i just take my phone now and it has never had a false alarm, maybe if you have the tags and the phone in at the same time maybe it doesn't look for the phone

Could be quite handy when you've sold the car and you "need" it back smile

Just had a similar experience with the alert this morning. Noticed the red light on the dash but I actually had the tag with me. Sure enough, I get a text and then a call from AM Watch. Explained to them that I have the tag with me and they cleared the alert and suggested I switch to the spare.

Do these things have a battery in them ? Is it possible that it has run out ? The car is less than 2 years old so that seems a little unlikely. So if anyone has experienced similar, please share - this is a first for me.

By the way I know you guys are all tech'd up and use the phone instead, but I reckon I forget my phone even more regularly than the tag wink And when I've got it with me it's usually about to run out of battery. Must sort my life out.

My alarm would activate on a regular basis - at least once each week. I had the tags replaced under warranty and, touch wood, the problem has not re-occurred. I think this was a common problem with the earlier cars and was made worse if your mobile phone was in close proximity to the tag.
