To tide me by till the V12V...

The dealer twisted my arm, as my old Vantage was getting a bit long in the tooth (2006 model with 39,800km), so I've just taken delivery of a brand new 2009 4.7 Vantage, with everything, and a custom paint job (Grigio Titanio from Ferrari)

Must say, I love the new motor! It's much more Aston, good hard torquey grunt from low down and then fervent shunt all the way to the new, higher redline! Much more poke and more as it should be. Very good, very good And the sportspack with Bilstein suspension is just in another league compared to the old car, my word. It's fantastic! And all the loads of new little refinements here or there are great.

Hehe... yes as usual I've done the complete opposite of what our resident depreciation expert would (;)), and I've bought brand new, but I did get a reasonable trade in on the old car given the market, so that was a big part of the motivation as well. And, I'll use this as a springboard most likely to get into a V12V hopefully, and that I think may be a smarter car to be in from a depreciation point of view. In anycase, I've never bought with too much consideration for such dour and droll practicalities, it's just so not Aston or gentlemanly is it

So dynamic in the sunlight too, this paint, it's impossible to capture on camera. It sometimes looks light bronze, sometimes grey, sometimes almost purple. Gotta love these 3-colour paints.

Yep, we're trying to make it as early as possible - funnily enough we're heading to California for two weeks straight after! We're actually house hunting in SA and California - I say USA , other half says SA so there may be some ugly scenes!
