Sportshift question

I am new to posting in this forum but have been lurking around for sometime,having done a bit of researh I now feel ready the ask you all your opinion on the sports shift option.

Am I correct in assuming that the gearbox is similar to the M5, ie not a true automatic more a manual without a clutch ?, many have said that an Aston must be manual to be a true drivers car I would like sport shift owners to give me there thoughts since purchase.

I have always dreamed of owning an Aston since watching Brent Sinclair and Danny wild in the Persuaders in 70's, but really need an auto, is it a compromise or a true alternative,

former manual owner now an SS owner - its a manual gearbox with a clutch just automated AND I LIKE IT
