Bluetooth Connectivity for Blackberry Curve 8900
Discussion
If you give you local dealer a call with the chassis number they should be able to tell you when the last time your car had bluetooth update. Basically AM bring out new update for bluetooth connectivity every so often there has been one fairly recently so it might be worth arranging to have that done. Hopefully it will solve the problem.

Well after much messing around it works. Sort of.
The phonebook only shows the numbers now rather than the contact name as it did on my old 8300.
Any more pointers?
Thanks.
You could try this - http://www.blackberry.com/devicesoftware/entry.do?...The phonebook only shows the numbers now rather than the contact name as it did on my old 8300.

If the software is similar to Volvo/Jaguar (both of which use Volvo's bluetooth electronics) then it may do the trick.

Might have to go back to the 8300 until Aston upgrades their s/w.

Hi Mine is working fine although I had to Pair from the phone to the car! The phone book transfers across OK ,i also have it paired into the tracker to save carrying the tag.
Appreciate this is an old topic but how do your pair your phone with A M Tracker to avoid using the tags?Mr Noble said:
I was told to call the tracker centre with your phone to hand.
I have a bold and it paired the other day ok, and on a call I could hear the caller fine but they couldn't hear me very well at all. It was unusable.
Any tips on sorting this microphone issue out please?
Cheers,
Greg
Yes, they have a "fix" which involves adding an additional (and very visable) mic.I have a bold and it paired the other day ok, and on a call I could hear the caller fine but they couldn't hear me very well at all. It was unusable.

Mine is in today for investigation.
The tracker pairing with the phone does work well.
The pairing issues can also relate to model year. If you have a a little blue blinking light on the centre console in front of the gear lever then I'm afraid there is no way to currently update that unit. It's made by Motorola and is a stand alone unit. If you've got a later car, the one with the flip top armrest then it can be updated as that one is Aston specific. You may have to wait until they get the info from the relevant phone manufacturers though. Nobody set a standard for bluetooth so it's all over the place and pretty hard to keep up with.
Blackberrys are a nightmare though!

Mine will still not keep the connection It works fine on every other car I've tried it on.
It does actually connect for about 10 seconds then just drops it.
It will connect if you manually initiate via the menu (proving that it can actually work).
Any ideas?
If you delete the phone on the aston and in the blackberry and try again, I've found in the past with other cars that this can sort it. Its as if it just doesn't quite get it correct the first time.
My issue is with the crappy mic. I can hear the other person fine but they complain that they can hardly hear me and it sounds like I'm inside a tin can (which in some respects I am!)
Any ideas on improving the mic. pick up?

With respect to the mic, I got mine back with a replacement mic last week. Still not 100% brilliant but better than it was.
Just booked it into Cambridge Aston for the mic upgrade. They say they fit it into a different place and that isa much much better than before.
Is it an ugly mess once done or not too bad?
It seems a shame not to have use of the BT when its in my car. Also be nice not to need to carry the big tracker slab, as I think they can make your phone act as the tracker beacon instead.
Also booked in for the fuse 22 switch to be fitted
