which version - you mean the older 4.3 with 380bhp?

you can get another 20-40bhp (depending on who you believe) by changin exhaust/sports cats/manifold/ECu remap/airboxes which will make it a 10second to a ton car

if thats not enough then theres a US firm that does a SC kit with a claimed 500bhp ish - you can be the first UK trialist if you like - only $25K I think (plus import tax and vat of course) frown

Or

1) Try and get a V12 version or
2) Try one anyway. The lack of horsepower may not be such a setback as you imagine.

i agree with murph even the 4.3 never ceases to put a smile on my face every time i drive one, which luckily is most days. it's not just about horsepower, there really is something special about these cars styling, the sound, and the admiring looks, old young male female all appreciate the elegance that is Aston Martin, spend one day in my workshop and just see how many people (passers by) pop in for a better look ask questions want to take a picture, most of these will never ride in one never mind own one, your Ferrari lambo etc may be faster but if i had to start all over again i would still choose to work on Aston's , As it tells you as you turn on the ignition Power Beauty Soul, really think that sums it up.

Try and get an extended drive.

It will probably feel much slower than the 360. It really isn't, but will feel so (it's heavier).

You need to spend time with it to really appreciate the handling.

Thanks for the comments... Yes I was thinking of getting the older 4.3 version.

Think I will go for a test drive and see how it feels.
Make sure you nail it. Drive it like you would drive a S2000 or something like that, ie keep the revs over 5500....and you will have a blast. The only real thing the 4.3 is lacking is low end Torque, but you can drive around that..much 'better' than a 360 IMO....

I found my V8 much better on track than a standard 360 there on the same day- and my instructor agreed, regardless of speed, the brakes actually lasted more than a couple of laps - 15 laps of Snetterton were no problem wink

I have to admit to not having first hand experience to compare the two, but I also have been reliably informed that the V8 seems better balanced than the 360 and can carry more corner speed. Problem is that my talent falls a bit short of the potential of both these cars

Anyone know if a deal can be done on the Aston Driving Course - thought it might a make a good.... valentines... present.....

I have a Ferrari 360 and thinking of getting an Aston but the power figures are not really that good...

Is there a tuner that can breathe some life into the car?
Get the ESX SuperVantage, its as fast as a 996 GT2 or 997tt, and faster than an F430.
