My MY09 Vantage has arrived
Discussion
I thought, for a change, we should not talk about depreciation, recession but get back to what we love, the cars.
I finally took delivery of my new Vantage end of last week
Absolutely love it
Weather is not too good so have only done 80km in it so far. Engine feels very strong altough I'm carefully breaking it in and keep revs low. A few rattles have been noticed but overall build quality is fine.
Only actual dissapointment: Found a thin but rather long scratch (5cm) in the paint over the passenger side door, will talk to the dealer about it as I cannot imagine this can happen from a stone. Hope it can be solved by polisihing rather than a repaint
Positive surprises to me:
- Glass ECU was available at delivery
- Indicator has comfort function (click once for 3 ticks)
- No problems with stalling in reverse
- Engaging first/second gear no problem even at zero degrees
Negatives surprises:
- Bluetooth Module does not seem to like my SE P1i. Pairing and Synchonization work but I get disconnected very often.
- Sportspack suspension feels harsher than I what I remember from the demo car (could be me getting old )
Thanks a lot to everybody on this board for your valuable contributions. I read many of the threads to make up my mind about buying one and to find the right specification once the decision was made. Also AMOC was an excellent source.
As pictures say more than thousand words, here a first bunch of pictures. Enjoy

God that's going to cost you in depreciation and just think what else you could have bought for the money if you'd gone for something a year or so older................................................................
Go hide yourself Pugsey. The pleasure of taking delivery of a brand new vehicle is immense and I think that bmartin should be applauded and congratulated for the excellent choice and the fact that he is keeping Britain running! Well done.
Lovely car. Enjoy!

Gorgeous looking car.
One question. The front number plate holder looks the perfect size and not the gigantic UK type monstrosity that I have on my own car. Could you possibly take a close-up shot so I can see exactly what it looks like? I was going to get a smaller (3/4 size) front plate for my own car but fit it directly to the bumper but my preference would be for a plate holder.
