Hi guys, in the market for an AM V8V, can find plenty with most of the options I want baring the red calipers!

really want these, i know its a bit sad!

Can you easily retrofit?, whats the different options anyway? iron/ceramic?

totally agree with you, it took me a while but I found a black one with red calipers and it looks soooo good.

Perhaps they can just be painted to whatever colour you want. Have you asked a dealer?

full set of genuine Aston martin calipers in red retail at just under £900.00 fitting is not difficult.

I guess your cheapest option would be to paint them with a brake caliper paint kit, although I wouldn't recommend this option as I don't think you'll get the quality finish that you'd be looking for.

Another option is to have them powder coated, which would provide a very tough professional finish and cost somewhere in the region of £250... http://www.biggred.co.uk/modern.html

Replacing the calipers is the most expensive option, but I guess you could sell the old calipers on afterwards?

lucozade..just clocked your profile.spooky!! i came out of a tuscan s mk2(my05) and after a brief stint in a db7 ended up in an onyx black v8v with red callipers. how does your tuscan behave itself?? all my tivs before this were great but this one was awful!!just talking to someone the other day who has a mk1 s and he is having no bother(my mk1 tuscan was actually fine).was i just unlucky or is there more people out there who have had a hard time with a mk2 s??

Hi,

My Tuscan 2 has been great. One of the last ones made. It's sitting in DrivenImages showroom at the moment, obviously for sale. I still own it but i'm interested to see if I can move it on for a decent price. To be honest my Aston has had more fixed than the Tuscan. Best TVR I've owned !

Still miss the looks of my mk1 Tuscans and still prefer them.

thanks guys, wouldn't paint them because as you say the finish i suspect would be poor quality, powder coat is an option, is there writing or a badge on the calipers though?

hi the lettering is neither recessed or embossed when you look at one it has a perfectly flat finish and the lettering looks painted but there is no discernible lip.

The lettering could be replicated with a transfer, which is then clearcoated for protection.

A decent bodyshop can repaint callipers and fit logo's. There is no need to powder coat either as they will use regular paint that can withstand temperature build up. I've had a few cars done. Here is an example on a Porsche as I needed orange callipers to match the Porsche Exclusive interior.
