I have been hearing stories of people getting 40% off list on new Aston's surely this is just rubbish? It was on another forum. I have a friend of a freind who works for Aston who says they are discounting new cars between 15-20%!

What do you guys think is feasible? My brother is looking for a AMV8 coupe, he is looking at 2nd hand at the moment but if the discounts on new are substantial then may go for one.

From my recent experience around 15% on a MY09 should be achievable, the 40% will be on the previous 4.3l cars of which there still appear to be a reasonable number available.

Is the 15% for a dealer-stock car or for an ordered car?

Has anyone actually got 40% off a new 4.3l V8 though, and if so, where? If I could get a deal like this, I'd buy a new one now!

If you can get it go for it while you have the chance. I imagine that production is being cut back drastically if not stopped altogether.

So about £54K for a new 4.3 AMV8 ?!

Seems reasonable value.

I managed to get a 4.7 sportshift roadster from a bucks based dealer for 75k
and received 45k for my 06 4.3 coupe with 16k on the clock back in november.
I was advised by other dealers that this was a good deal.
Have noticed that the 4.7 returns about 4mpg better than my old 4.3.

40% saving, that's bks

The biggest savings have been on pre-owned Aston Martin factory owned car which have been sold to the dealers very cheap. They have been sold on very cheap.

e.g. 08' reg roadster sold for £55k (saving of £40k).

Biggest saving that I have seen via AM dealers are approx 25%.

I also agree - on a brand new car it's bks. Someone's been watching re-runs of the Top Gear where James May quoted such figures (the mop haired muppet).

That said...

HWM have some new unregistered 4.3s that they're labelling "V400s". They come with sportpack wheels, and the power upgrade plus freeflow cats and I believe the sticker price is 75k. This is probably 15kish off the original new price of the 4.3, or say 20k or so off the price off the 4.3 plus the bits.

If I were wanting a new car now, it would make think twice before plumping for a 4.7.

Still isn't 40% though.

hang on a minute - you may be sick of this discussion but I am asking a question as a non AM owner - my brother is looking to buy why is it wrong to see what the best deal you van get is? This is a DISCUSSION forum, if you have a problem with the question stay out of the thread

What a ridiculous thing to say. Do I take it that you + whoami paid the sticker price for your cars then ? I'd be very surprised, yet you consider it unreasonable for others to want to negotiate, or discuss negotiations.. and if one is handing over that amount of money, why can't the negotiations be fun too ?

Sounds morelike you don't want to hear of your potential depreciation ?

i will make it easy for you:

i paid full *sticker* 145.000 Euros for my Roadster - the dealer took my old XKR convertible back for the price the leasing company asked for - then he rent me a A V8V Coupe for a decent monthly price for 18 months until the new Roadster arrived......

I didn't asked for nothing - i just asked if the above is economical doable for him and now i got a wonderful V8V Roadster for a decent monthly rate and i have just to give him (the dealer) the car back after 3 years - that's the advantage of contract hire and not to squeeze your dealer - oh i forgot he lend me a new DBS to go on the *Ring* too cool

PS: its to live and let live wink

To answer your questions, no, I didn't pay list (in common with 100% else of the car owning public).

I also factored in the horrifc depreciation when making my buying decision.

take it any way you want - you are complaining about people on this thread discussing the topic, so if you have a problem why enter the thread? You can play on my words all you like you are clearly wounded about something................can you not afford the repayments on your car? or were you not cuddled enough as a kid?
