Anybody else had any vertical strakes fall off the car? I've read a few stories so far. Mines has been replaced by I'm being told it was due to damage to the grille which I simply can't believe since there was no visual damage and the strakes are held in by 3 bolts !

My offside upright/support has a crack which I shall be mentioning when I take the car in for warranty bits. Also I was taking off the front number plate holder earlier and I think the grille behind may have started to corrode - didn't have a good look as it was too dark in the garage to see properly. I'll check it on the weekend as it may just be road muck that couldn't be reached to clean.

I can't believe the mess AM made of the number plate support - looks very cottage industry!

first thing I did with mine as I actually wanted to see that famous AM grille smile

10 min job, get rid off of the 5mph impact bumper/number plate holder thats required for the US bump parkers and replace with a 3/4 size front plate stuck on ...much better smile

My grille is being replaced under warranty - cracked virtical support with no signs of impact damage.

Also, I've seen the perfect number plate backing for the V8V. My local dealer has fitted a Jaguar X-Type plate holder in place of the gigantic Aston standard fit item. Looks like it was made for the job.

Bogie, where did you get the 3/4 size plate from? Any pics of yours?

My dealer took the number plate holder off my car and drilled the plate directly into the bumper - looks much nicer IMO

Glad I didn't. About a month after I got mine I parked in someone's driveway which had a gentle slope. Hadn't pulled the handbrake on hard enough and came out an hour later to find the car nestled up to their garage door loser Plate holder split, not a mark on the car, but reckon it would have been a new bonnet. Phew ! Always make sure I double check the handbrake now.

I had a similar experience when parked at Sainsburys a few weeks ago, whilst at the check-out a tannoy announcement came on...."would the driver of the aston martin reg ******** please report to your vehicle immediately, your car has rolled out of it's space and is blocking the car park."

Very embarrassing!

Parked my V8 in my garage, but not far enough back to the wall, pressed the remote garage door closer to hear the garage door hit the bonnet eek: Talk about a sinking feeling in my stomach. Damage.........not a scratch; must be a tough paint job. Phew thumbup
