The owner of a local bodyshop has a V8 Vantage. His shop is an approved repairer for AM (among others) and when I called in today there were half a dozen cars AM's sat outside. They do a very good job of work and I've had a few cars in there for "touch up" over the years including TVR, Porsche and BMW.

We got chatting about our cars (of course!) and he showed me his 08 example to which he had recently fitted a set of DBS wheels - god they looked fantastic! Really filled out the rear arches being a wider wheel. If I change anything to my Aston it'll be to fit a set of DBS wheels smile

I didn't think to take any pics but next time I pop by I'll do so. My daily hack is booked in later in January to have a minor dink to a wheel arch rectified so hopefully I'll get a chance then.

Hope it's not the same dink sustained by mine. Parked reluctantly in a shop car park on NYr's eve for 10 mins and came out to find that someone driving something white should have actually been carrying something white and been escorted by something golden and hairy.

In short, what looked like minor pain scuf in front of front wheel arch actaully caught the arch with more force than one might expect. Front wing is poly carbonate and suffered a crack, borne out by minor paint distortion right over by the headlamp. This means new wing and 4.5k yikes

Suffice to say the insurance company are now dealing with it. Body shop are now getting used to having it around as I only just received it back from being rear-ended by a similarly visually challenged German juggernaut.

Can't you people be a bit more careful.

They were the standard £500 a corner wheels. The bodyshop is only half a mile from my office so I'll pop back in and take a pic.

Edit....he was quite surprised that they were almost the same cost as the standard V8V wheels.

Fortunately the dink to the wheel arch is on my Astra Estate.

God rip of britain ehh! I did exactly the same thing and cracked my front wing and got it repaired in Munich for 800 euros. A new wing repair was quote at 2500 euros. Don't you just love the UK eh smile NOT

I've taken a handful and will download them when I get home this evening. Pics don't really tell the whole story, I think they will a whole lot better in the flesh. The rears are much wider and fill the arch perfectly.

Edit...he's also added N400 side sills. Pics by 5:30pm!

Aha, no Astra van listed in m33ufo's profile so I'd assumed he was having to hack around in the Vantage like the rest of us wink

SoulReaver, the price to sort it out "on the cheap" including some damage to the front valance, replace the armourfend etc. was still way over my excess so I opted to put it through insurance and get it done properly. Apparently AM will not approve repair work to poly panels as they can't guarantee the crack won't reoccur. Sounds fair enough, or maybe it's just a good way to keep the coffers turning - if you can't sell whole cars, then knock 'em out a corner at a time.

DBS wheels sound like a bargain at 500 a corner, especially if you need to change the rubber anyway. Recall paying much more than that to change to 20" wheels on my XKR. Now dreading seeing the pic's in case they're a must have.

To be clear, is it these wheels?:

And if so, are there any pictures of them on a V8 Vantage?

unfortunatley the price doesnt include tyres but i can supply them.
fronts would be £245.00each pirelli 245/35/zr20 (95y)
rears would be £315.00each pirelli 295/30/zr20 (101y)

These prices would also be plus carriage unless you are collecting if i was to send the wheels and tyres via a courier you would have to arrange to get the tyres fitted locally but if you were to collect i could arrange this for you at no extra cost.

so a total package price of £2958.00 if collecting

RRP from Aston Martin £3505.00

Thanks

Mathew

Mathew, do you know the wheel widhts and offsets of V8V and DBS ? I'd like to know how much more the DBS wheels come out in comparison to the V8V wheels.

I think the DBS wheels look quite similar to these from Diseno
