I`m assuming that`s Chris Harris in the video , is that correct?, if not ignore the following . I used to quite like his style of writing etc , also his exploits with a "retro" 911 were not unamusing .......but why the disrespect , coupled with untruths concerning the predecessor of the AMG tested here. I can vouch , hand on heart that ( mine at least ) the steering wheel doesn`t shake, nor ( to my mind ) does the noise the SL55 make warrant such criticism.
Without listening to the audio again to refresh my memory, there are other scornful remarks made with sarcastic undertones referring to, which is after all, a robust , stupefyingly quick, genuinely good ( if not great) car, a car that was rated very highly by "Evo" , indeed so high was their joint opinion , it reigned supreme for an all time record in the section "The Knowledge "
Congratulations to the AMV8V in regard to the test, I enjoyed my tenure with my Aston ( `06 Vantage manual ) but thought the expense of servicing and general cost of running it outweighed my enjoyment.

Yep thats Chris, personally my favourite motoring journalist but I too was a little suprised to the comments about the old SL. Think he said something along the lines of 'a totally differnent car from the st box previous SL'. Very suprised as most if not all motoring journos have praised the SL in the past. Still, a good review on the Aston.Without listening to the audio again to refresh my memory, there are other scornful remarks made with sarcastic undertones referring to, which is after all, a robust , stupefyingly quick, genuinely good ( if not great) car, a car that was rated very highly by "Evo" , indeed so high was their joint opinion , it reigned supreme for an all time record in the section "The Knowledge "
