I just noticed this vantage thats just sold on ebay without any reserve for £40k.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Its been listed on here in the classfied section for a little while but at £45k. Looks like some saved a good chunk of money on that one.

Seems like a good price as the car seems to be a good spec. What do you think?

seems like a bargain, as most at £40K are the earliest cars or have the highest mileage ...I do think (as per other cars like this right now) that there have been a lot of panic sellers, where its 3 years old and the final payment is due on the PCP deal though ..wonder how many people have been caught out in negative equity on flash cars in the last 6 months frown

/still good if you want to pick up a bargain smile

can't be a final payment on a contract can it? he says he needs to get rid as he's got an F430 on order. so, maybe he just wants rid to get back some cash to put towards his new baby. i'd say sounds like a possible good deal but then the cynical side of me is wary of something that seems too good to be true.

I may be wrong but wasnt this the guy that was on the forum asking about manual vs auto. He then bought a manual from Walton but didn't get on with it as he was too tall.

I thought you only paid the final ballon payment IF you wanted to keep the car? Otherwise you just hand it back to the leasing company.

He may not have been leasing it but still have a balloon (which could well be much greater than the value of the car).

if you had a deal with a guaranteed future value, youd just hand it back, like thousands of sportscars have been in recent months, flooding the market, however only certain finance places did that, a lot just gave a balloon payment and YOU have to pay that off when the 3 years is up, regardless whether the car is worth it or not (have known a few people of late find themselves trapped in such a way, not me though;) )

Oh dear, that's not really on. To be honest that was the kind of figure I thought it would reach on Ebay given what similar cars are available for on Pistonheads and the like.

You're never going to get the best price but you are guaranteed to sell it if you need to.

Now on for £42k. Perhaps in another month he will look silly not taking £40 on ebay. bad form to back out - should have put a reserve on.

Would make me very cautious buying from him full stop. Even I had the £42k.

- think I was the guy you were refering to - I bought a manual Vantage from HWM Walton and it played havoc with my dodgy left kness/hip etc.

I actually did a really good deal with Stratstone Derby in the end and have been enjoying a 2007 sportshift Coupe since Sept.

So it's definitely not me in the ad anyway.

(Thought I'd just mention this as the buyer has turned out to be a d**k!)

Hey Nodz
Oh well done. I remembered your story from a while back. Pleased you got sorted. Interesting you didnt do a swap with HWM - did they not have the car you wanted?

Hi Banner

Used sportshift Coupes were pretty rare at the time and HWM didn't have one. All they did was offer to sell it for me sale or return.

Very happy with the car I got in the end from Derby and Phil and Guy there were good people to deal with. Obviously I took a bit of a hit but you can't put a price on pain-free, happy motoring! (Well you can but I'd rather not talk about it!)
