Hi am new to the Pistonheads forumand wanted to ask the question would it be possible to convert a standered 4.3 litre V8 vantage to the amazing N24?? My uncle has a AMV8 currently and it would be nice to know that you could upgrade it to that fantastic road and track going monster!!

yes im sure you could convert it - Aston Works would do it no problem ...but it would be cheaper to sell the original car and just buy an N24 wink

The only difference i can tell is that the N24 is stripped down has new brakes, roll cage, tyres ECU and suspension. However i got this off world car fans.

"These include larger diameter front and rear anti-roll bars and adjustable ride height aluminium dampers, as well as single rate flat ground springs with separate helper springs. The front subframe has been modified for extra camber and castor, while Speedline cast magnesium front and rear wheels are standard, along with high performance Yokohama AO48 tyres.

The brakes have been up-rated with Pagid RS 29 race pads. As further endorsement of the standard V8 Vantage’s abilities, the active safety systems are directly carried over to the Vantage N24 including dynamic stability control, traction control, ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution, providing reassurance and control in slippery conditions."

The N24's or now GT4, is built by Prodrive at their factory and not on the normal assembly line.
As said by the time youve fitted the cage, brakes, dampers, fuel cell, exhaust, seats etc, plus the cost of the original car, youll be somewhere near buying a new one. IIRC circa 100k.
The (N24/GT4) cars are not road legal, though can be SVA'd but in all honesty you wouldnt want to drive one on the road as the ride would see you visiting the dentist on a weekly basis....

You cant get the speedlines anymore, but at 4k a set why would you!

What would you be planning to do with it once finished?

well seeming that my uncle isn't planning on selling it anytime soon and does quite alot of trackdays he was thinking of doing a slow progretion to the N24 or GT4. He already has an Audi A5 for his everyday car so the N24 in his mind would be the closet he could get to a proper racing car
