Am I right in believing the 2006 db9 has no warning buzzer to remind you you have left the side lights on ? I find it amazing in a Ford developed car costing 100k plus anybody could have missed this - my son even has it on his mark 2 Astra ? Or am I missing something ?

On my MY08 Vantage the lights turn off automatically once the ignition is off, regardless of switch position....as did my MY06 Vantage (or so I thought).

The 08 car makes a warning sound if you turn off with the lights on but stops wen key is removed.

Doesn't have it on the V8V either.

Though it's very, very rare I don't automatically look back at the car after it's been parked anyway, so you notice if you've left them on (and with that in mind, it's easy to see why a MkII Astra needs a buzzer!).

Strange that it is different on your car.

Not sure if this is an option that can be enabled by the dealer?

on my 06 V8V i read in the owners manual that a buzzer will sound if the lights are left on but it doesn't happen in mine. can't find anything in the setup on the infotainment jobby but my lights turn off automatically when i pull the key out anyway so i don't worry about it! i guess it's a "feature".

totally off topic but what is the reason for the yellow button on the fob that turns on the side lights while out of the car??don`t get me wrong ,it`s tip top when approaching the car in the alehouse car park to light it up like kit from knight rider.however, aside from the gimmick value i can`t see a logical reason for it.it`s not like you are going to be in a car park somewhere where there is a couple of dozen v8v in your spec is it??

Isn't it so that lights come on to light the way to the car, without actually unlocking the car (for safety/security reasons)?

Does yours buzz when you leave them on then?

On my 07 Vantage there is a warning buzzer if I switch the car off and remove the ignition key without first switching off the lights. I cannot understand why they all seem to be different.

Same on my 07 model year Vantage - leave the lights on and remove the key, then you'll hear a warning sound. I'm not sure why there's a difference either, as I don't remember any difference like this listed on the 06 - 07 model year change... Unless they deemed it too insignificant to mention.

Mine's an 07 car and doesn't have it...

I wonder if it's one of those things that the dealers can activate/deactivate. Not 100% sure I want it, but will ask them (goes in for a service on 19th).

On my MY05 DB9 the lights go off automatically when I turn the key to "off" despite the fact that the switch is still on "on". The yellow button on the remote switches on the lights for short period (which can be programmed in the on-board computer).

I can confirm that my lights don't automatically turn off after the key is removed and the manual mentions nothing about it.
It would be great if Murph or someone can establish if this is just a setting issue.
Not only does my son's Astra have a warning buzzer but I would guess you would be hard pushed to name a car at any price manufactured in the last 10 years that does not have the feature ! Any suggestions.....

The lights have turned off automatically on each of the three DB9s I have owned (05, 06 and 09MY). However, this only happens on dipped beam. If one turns off the car on full beam, the lights stay on and there is no buzzer to warn you. Ran the battery down on the first car due to it. Makes no sense and Aston should deal with it.

I nevertheless generally leave the lights on in winter but I always remember to kill them if I have been using full beam.

I generally always drive with the lights on so I never touch the switch - it stays "on" all the time and as a result, the lights go out when I pull the key. If the switch is in the mid position (parking or position lights) then they will stay on despite me turning the key to off and removing it. Must be a programmable feature - otherwise it does not really explain the differences between cars.

My Jan 99 Ferrari F355 didn't have a buzzer either smile

Will see what the service guys say.

My March 06 V8V doesn't switch lights off or sound a buzzer if sidelights left on. Have left lights on twice now - I've become too used to every other car having a buzzer (including a van I use sometimes). Asked service department as I couldn't believe such an expensive car wouldn't have this feature and they said they can add this option for an £85 charge.
I'll just start remembering the switch lights off smile
