Alarm system

Anybody had any problems with the alarm on their V8? Mine started warbling away on xmas eve at 2000. Tried locking, unlocking, starting engine etc. but to no avail. In the end called Mondial who sent a guy over to disconnect the battery at 2300.

So, yet again, my V8 is sat on the driveway unusable. I think this is about the last straw - the f*cking things are nothing but trouble.

No issues with mine thus far (which doesn't help).

Did he disconnect the battery using the switch in the boot? If so, have you tried reconnecting it after it's been disconnected for a while?

Is it just going off when stationary and parked up? Or when you set off? Does the car have the "uprated" alarm system?

Alarm module is situated right behind the passenger side rear wheel. They are known to get water ingress. which causes them to fault. It'll have to head off to your nearest dealer im afraid. I'm 99% certain that is what it will be.

Mondial kindly gave me a BMW 318D with 12 miles on the clock! It ain't missed a beat. It goes back tomorrow and they return the Vantage... I'm SO tempted to keep the Beemer - it's not as gutless as I thought it would be!

I wonder how long before the Aston craps out again....

They reckoned a fault with a 'sealed module'.... But they also reckoned that they were going to collect another Aston from Aberdeen with exactly the same problem reported and that it was a common problem.
