DB4 GT Zagato

Anybody know what prices these usually go for? I'm assuming it's something you could buy a small housing estate for, but all the 2 i've found are POA.

I remember seeing a genuine GT Zagato and an Aston built replica (Chopped DB4!!) racing at Croft a few years ago, and the commentator reckoned the genuine car was valued at around £1m.

POA usually means if you have to ask the price you can't afford it.

The problem (or not as the case may be) is that cars such as this are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Take the Ferrari 250GTO that went for £10 million. Is it really worth that? Of course not. Prices fluctuate according to market conditions and desirability more so than in the mainstream.

I would guesstimate that a genuine Zagato would fetch up to £2 - £2.5 million depending on provenance and a Sanction II car about £800K - £1 million.

Check out the latest issue of Octane. There is one on the front cover with a big article against a 250swb. Est price is £300k for the aston

Rico that was a DB4 GT and not a Zagato.

Of course, thats assuming you can find one. All 19 are known, and all in the hands of collectors/ enthusiasts.

The 4 sanction 2 are also known.

It might be easier (and certainly cheaper) to buy a wreck of a DB4 and then build a copy...

I'll add a little background...

I saw an Aston of some type racing at knockhill earlier this year. It was red, and after a bit of research it looks like a DB4 from the front, but has the rear end of a Zagato (no 'fins'). So as it was racing in an odds and ends category (and not a historics meeting), i'm assuming it's a repared rear-ended DB4, or some type of replica.

Telegraph motoring section had a article on one the other week. I think they said around 2m. Absolutely stunning car.

One of the original GT Zagato's does have the vertical headlights of the DB4 (making it look like the 250 GT SWB). You might have seen this one!

Aston Workshop have built/are building Zagato replicas. £250k
There's also a Nissan Z specialist who builds DB456 blocks and has done a Zagato, but I can't remember all the details ?

yes it is, based in Borough Green in kent.

they did the Zagato "special" to show off their talents. I saw it a while ago, under a dust cover. They had attached a big spoiler to the boot (think TVR 450 SEAC). Great engine, just sitting there. They said they would get it going again some day.

I hope they do soon.
