V400 - anyone looking to buy, check it out
Discussion
Just had the tags replaced for my tracker (the batteries had run out) at HWM.
They are doing some cars they have badged the 'V400'. Basically new 4.3s but with the Aston power upgrade, Sportspack wheels (but not suspension), DBS rear lights and a few other bits. I had a go in one.
Engine upgrade is noticeable but quite subtle. Definitely better pick up and more urgency. It's kind of as if the power curve has been moved 1k rpm down the rev range with a bit more at the top end. And the throttle's got a bit more bite too (though tbh, I still think it's one area of the car that could be improved).
Ride is a bit stiffer with the wheels, but generally the feel of the rest of the car is broadly the same as before (ie no bad thing).
Price is extremely keen IMO. 76k for a coupe and, according to their web site, 80k for a roadster (but was pretty sure they had a roadster for 76k too). They have a very lovely blue coupe (the rear lights and wheels really work on this car) in and a meteorite (I think) roadster.
If you are looking for a new/nearly new car, these are worth a look IMO (and only one has those stripes! An option thankfully ).
Oh, they also have the Prodrive Toro red car for sale at 45k. It has all the Prodrive bits on, and whilst I'm not keen on the carbon rear spoiler, and it does have a few miles on it, it seems like a good price to me. Didn't get a go in it to compare. Am told the suspension's very good on it.

They have lost pace with the marketplace, an N400 can now be bought for £60k!
Whilst an N400 is always going to be special, a V400 is merely a HWM modified V8V.
Presumably that's a pre-owned N400?Whilst an N400 is always going to be special, a V400 is merely a HWM modified V8V.

See your point though.
PS And on the N400 you have to have that stitching on the centre console!
