Without doubt the finest car I have driven - absolutely stunning. I've owned V8s and a Vanq S and this is way on a different level... Shame it doesn't photograph well - it is sensational looking and sounding on the road...

The acceleration is addictive, the ride is amazing, the steering light but feels good, the car feels much lighter than the Vanq and it does shrink around you... everybody loves it... And the sound - like ripping silk curtains covered in flaming petrol....

If you're considering a new DB9, don't - try this (DBS bargains to be had)...

I'm in love...

polar..i remember a few weeks back reading your posts about lambo and the frankly devastating hit you were looking at to get rid of your gallardo.just curious but did aston give you a trade in you couldn`t refuse or did you manage to shift it privately? i have to tip my hat to you sir because the kick in the bks you must have taken in a couple of months of g ownership to the load you will drop on the dbs would scare the st out of me!!! FORGOT TO ASK..........how does it compare in the speed stakes to the g?? i know it`s a completely different animal but i am just curious as to outright speed and on the edge handling. regardless of your answer,by the way, i would pick the dbs over the gallardo 10 times out of 10.top man!!

Congratulations Polar, sounds like you're pleased with it. Must admit I felt a little tingle walking round a DBS on one of my recent visits to the service workshop. It's an awesome looker, still waiting for my first aural experience.

Nice analogy with the curtains, although one has to wonder how you know what that sounds like wink

Hi POLAR 8. New car sounds perfect.
I would be interested in 'how' special the price was as I am looking for a 9 Volante and understand that discounting in special cases may be as much as offered on Bentley GTC (CIRCA 40K).
Does any one have experience of the warranty the last time AM changed ownership? Would the 3 year be taken over by purchaser should this occur (merc springs to mind) and what happens with the 3rd year which I am told is actually provided by the selling dealer, what protection if the dealer is no longer around in 3 years time?
Shame to spoil ones excitement with this kind of talk but -sign of the times!

Why did you sell your Lambo after a few weeks?
How does the DBS compare to the Lambo?

biker..i think it may be a sensitive subject because he has posted on the fezza lambo forum since starting this thread but doesn`t seem to want to talk about lambo on the aston thread!!!

Polar8 - am considering a DBS as a daily driver and wondered what you thought of yours a couple of months on...... Also thinking about a 997 Turbo, but had one before so would like to move on, and a 599, but I loathe the F1 boxes so probably going to give this a wide berth....

Thanks

Can't recommend it enough. I do use it almost every day, but low milage - do make sure it warms up though. It just gets better and better. Zero issues on the car. Its a masterpiece. The main problem I'm having is one of restraint. I try every day to drive calmly but its impossible - the car wants to be swung around corners and accelerated up roads etc - not very 'astonish' I know. I'm seeking help to rectify this. Oh, and I'm averaging 8.9 MPG. Other than that, bliss... With the crunch I assume they'll remain limited in production numbers.

Excellent. Why not go inbetween the two colours with the new quantum silver - looks great, shows the lines better than black. Depends if buying new or not but also worth getting an MY09 with the B&O system- though I have only seen one on the market. On the other hand an 08 can be had at pretty reasonble prices

Hi Guys, I often post in the Lamborghini section as I co-own an LP640.
Just got a DBS before Christmas - '08 in Storm Black. Lovely car but it does feel as if its going to snap at any minute on wet roads especially. Not sure if any of you read Evo but its appearing in their Fast Fleet from the next issue. Its going to be getting a lot of stick on the track so be interesting to see how it copes. Gorgeous looking car..

Was just reading your 640 update last night and wondering what the non-italian v12 weighing similar to 1.7 tons might be?? Now we know....welcome to the DBS club cloud9

Am looking forward to test driving it next week. Not been a huge fan of V8V and DB9 previously, esp the gearboxes, but have heard some great comments about DBS. I don't want it to be a total hooligan, but slightly more raw - as you seem to suggest Simon - is what I'm looking for. If it performs on the track I'll be impressed given its weight

Mate - the car looks stunning in Evo mag, good write up.

Just found the button that sticks it into sport mode. It absolutely transforms the handling - much shaper and harder. Wish i'd discovered it before. I adore the DBS - really is a sensational car. I'm finding my loyalty to lambo's sorely tested
