Hi all,
going to go in under warranty (again!, and dealer is miles away) but wonder if there is a simpler solution to a few issues on my V8 Vantage (2006). I've read up on them a bit but not getting far.

1. The boot fills with water when it rains - think unrelated to boot opening or closing issue as in worst case (4 inches of water) I hadn't had boot open for weeks. The whole inside of the car ends up damp as a result.
2. Water runs into boot when I open it - seems to be common issue but is there a fix or is it a design flaw?
3. The window drop on door open feature seems to stop working randomly. I can resolve it by putting window down and holding for 5 secs, them window up and holding for 5 secs. But after a couple of days it stops working again. Any ideas?

Love the car but its staggering the amount of niggly issues that seem to crop up.

thanks for any help.

1) This happened to me too - boot sloshing with water, so dealer replaced the boot floor carpet and filled the drain holes in the rubber (with some black sealer goo) at the bottom of the rear window. This has fixed the problem completely. It does mean water collects here when you wash the car, but not a huge problem.
2) No fix here I know of - in fact fixing number 1 will make this problem worse.
3) Not had this exact problem - had problem with drivers door or passenger door not locking though, which was cured by reflashing the door modules...

On #2, I've found this highly annoying to the point where I don't use the boot if the car is wet. However, talked to the service guys and they reckon they have a fix which involves blocking the channel which carries water from the window edge to the run-off at the sides. Apparently the water should then just run off the boot lid instead of collecting in the channel and running out when you open the lid. Sounds like a good idea, but you have to wonder why the channel is there in the first place.

Ref Number 3, my dealer said this can be fixed by flashing the software on the window modules, this can be done while you wait. Mine never did it at all then it went in for some work and now it does it, so I am thinking there is a bug in a software patch they have applied to the car.
