Erm, no actually.

The later models come with Aston Tracking built in but earlier cars have Tracker fitted as an option.

fit the cheapest you can that will keep the insurers happy ..its for their benefit after all ...and usually its the ones that are owned by the same parent companies that insist on them strangley enough wink

Mine's been fine. Even deactivates via bluetooth phone...though I'm not sure whether that's a good idea.

Never had a problem with Tracker on my '06 Vantage (I've used the company since 2000 for all of the cars in the household)

With the new Aston factory fitted system (on my N400), I occasionally got false alarms that were down to my mobile interfering with the BT connection for the alarm card at start-up. Keeping the mobile in the door pocket and the card in the centre console has solved that one!

Reassuringly, on those occasions when the the system has activated, the warning text, PIN reply and personal telephone call all worked perfectly!

I have had the AM system on both of my Vantages. False alarms, not activating when it should and cancelling (both false and positive) alarms without even confirming who I am. Terrible. Interestingly my dealer tells me that they would love to dump the system as it's on of their biggest causes of complaint.

With regard to Bluetooth, they couldn't get my phone to work this way.

Don't even get me started on tracker.

The factory system has now been improved. The tags have been updates which will stop false alarms. Also, it works fine with the blue tooth in your mobile, so no need to have tags any more.
