Hi Guys,
The airbag warning light has appeared - is this something to worry about or is it another potential falsie like the engine management light? Anyone know the trick for resetting if false?

when the airbag lamp is on it means that the system has detected a problem and disabled it. The usual fault is the wiring for the pretensioners under the drivers seat, quite a simple repair. Obviously because of the explosive nature of airbag systems great care has to be taken, Any competent workshop will of have seen this problem before on other vehicles as it is not just astons that suffer from it, it is caused by the seat being moved backwards and forwards, the system does a self check each time the ignition is turned on, so once rectified should reset, Outside that would have to recommend getting checked by a dealer, the heritage network or an aston martin specialist. At this present time having the airbag on is not an mot failure so not illegal, but obviously the system is there to protect in the event of the unthinkable. forgot to mention the number of flashes indicates the fault code,if you count them and let me know i will be able to give you some more info.

hi lodgie as first thought 46 is drivers pretensioner circuit ie wiring under seat, quite a simple repair but it is a dangerous system if worked on incorrectly, if you have a competent garage to repair they can contact me for advice if required.

Thanks vm for that, just pushed the connectors under the seat back together and no more light!
