Took my DBS on track to the Oulton Park open pit lane last week. Amazing car on track. Phenominal brakes, balance, grip. You can really feel what's going on at each corner to exploit the grip. Firming up the dampers adds extra feel but the normal mode is also very good. Need to figure out how to post pics next.

If you're after a track tool and also an awesome road car look no further than a Lamborghini LP560!!!
Totally awesome.
The DBS is a superb classy car, however not in the same league as the LP560.
Thanks for advice! I already have a tuned 996 GT2 and a caterham so was looking at something that might be slightly more luxury focus but could still hold its own! Just think it is a stunning car! I'll take a look at what you suggested though! If you're after a track tool and also an awesome road car look no further than a Lamborghini LP560!!!

Yes, on paper the DBS is heavy but it doesn't feel it. You dont feel the weight of the V12 through the corners because it is well behind the front wheels.
For me, a track day car is more about entertainment and less about lap times. I'd like to get to the stage where I am hanging the tail out on corners and really mastering car control. From experience I know that some mid engine cars can be snappy on the limit (confession: I've crashed a Challenge Stradale). For me the DBS makes all the right super car noises, is balanced and predictable on the limit, everything is progressive and it goes like stink. The 0-60 of 4.3 doesnt tell the whole story. The mid-range torque feels stronger than an F430.
I can't find another car on the planet better than the DBS. Which is good because I don't want to change cars for a long time. The 599 may be better but I'm not keen on the interior. The Ferraris always look like toys to me. See 599 cockpit vs DBS cockpit

Agreed, the DBS is a great car to drive on track and a great deal of fun, the mid range punch is very strong compared to that of say a 430.
I was driving the DBS last week in slightly damp conditions I was spinning the wheels all the way through third gear, whereas my F430 does not 'feel' as fast, and would have a job spinning the wheels like the DBS, but is pretty similar up to 120ish.
My 599 arrives in a few weeks, so I will do a comparo against the DBS, which should be fun I know the DBS will win on noise, looks and interior already

How did you manage to crash a F430?
Was it on a track?
I have found them to be very well balanced!
Enjoy the DBS.
Great pictures.
When is your next track day?

The Challenge Stradale is a 360 which I assume has less clever electronic interventions to save you than an F430. I overcooked the chicane at Oulton Park and ended up in the tyre wall. Mashed the front end of the car and stopped everyones trackday for nearly an hour 360 challenge is a great car on track - fault was all mine. How did you manage to crash a F430?
