it has come that time of the year when I had to renew my insurance for my 1988 Aston Martin with Lockton (they are the broker whilst the insurer is Red Equity Star) for the 6th year.

It was an "AMOC" policy where you call the insurer, mention you belong to the AMOC car club and you should get a better price. Their renewal form came at £751

Ok. I called RH instead and for the same identical conditions (and same insurer) it was £100 less.

I then called MORE THAN (they insure a car until it is 25 years old!) and, again, same identical conditions, valuation with breakdown included... I had my premium cut from £751 down to £335 per annum.

I have my home insured with them as well hence got good discount.

If you have an Aston and you are near renewal date... well call them. Very happy customer indeed! smile

Wait until you try to claim. Or go abroad. Or make any modification. Or need someone else to drive it......

I will. Because until one see the difference one has to rely on "habits".

One year will not kill me for I drive 3000 miles p.a.

will report in 12 months

One thing is certain. Calling RH would save ME at least £100 for the same service from Red Equity Star...

And yes I am no longer an AMOC member smile

PS: A-Plan quoted me above £1000... which I politely not accepted

Indeed, got hit by some goon in London, several thousand pounds worth of damage, took 13 months to settle. Never again.
