I'm fairly close to taking the plunge on a second hand Vantage but want to know what I'm getting in to. How much is the annual servicing cost and what is the reliability like? Any help much appreciated also as I won't be doing mega miles fuel will not be too much of an issue but would you go franchised for sevicing or specialist?...Thanks!

id go franchised if its still under warranty. At a dealer its about £600-700 upwards for a yearly/10k mile service....5.5 hours is labour, so its basically down to their location and labour rate - cheaper up North, but in central London then £150 ph is going to make it more.

other than that, no issues really - same as any other performance car - tyres a couple of hundred, same for brake pads.

There are also a number of Aston martin independent specialists throughout the country with the same level of diagnostic kit using only dealer parts etc etc, that can be used which does not effect the warranty if they follow manufactures guidelines. It,s under a European law called block exemption. prices on servicing for a 10k are around the £400 pound mark for an amv8, And as specialists they tend to have a passion for the cars.

I just had the 30,000km service which included front and rear brakes, and it was quite pricey at about 1800 pounds.
