Hi folks,

Anyone know how many GT's were produced during their short production run? Also anyone know the split between auto and manual?

Thanks and all the best.

Martin.

From what i believe 190 were built in 2003 and only 84 was for the uk market, not sure on the split between the gt and gta, there was also in 2002 there was another special edition with only 99 made which was the zagato, and then 99 of the volante version the db ar1, Hope this helps.

very helpful. Thanks.

I'm not in the market to buy just yet but doing some research for when I do come to buy. Looking at the classifieds it appears that the GT carries quite a premium over the standard DB7. I'll definitely be after a car with a manual 'box so may have a long search.

There are a selection of them on Chiltern Aston's website, I noticed, manual and auto.

If you look at this site: www.astonmartins.com it will tell you all. It's a brilliant website and full of information just like build numbers specifications etc.

Correct GTA's (A stands for automatic) ;-)

Following on from my original question what changes were made to the DB7 Vantage to turn it into the GT? From memory the main changes were.

1. 15 bhp increase.
2. Lower final drive.
3. Integrated boot spoiler.
4. Bonnet vents.
5. Stiffer springs and dampers.
6. different wheels.
7. Revised gear rations?

Finding a manual GT looks like its going to be very difficult in comparison to finding a manual V12 Vantage.

Thanks and all the best.

Martin.

I was definitley shopping for a Manual and had avoided the auto's for some long time on principal, but having actually tried a manual I wasn't over pleased with the big pedal travel & heavy clutch combo which would have made it a chore on long journeys (more-so for Mrs H) so bought an Auto instead.
