Well, trip done.
2,048 miles (in 13 days) and not a single problem.
Saw a lovely old DB6 on the boat on the way out. Then a Vanq and a DB9 at the first stop in Leon (!) and another Vanq, DB9 and V8 Vantage in the second stop in Santiago (! If you're on here guys, hope you had a good trip...). Exclusive cars indeed
If anyone ever needs any input on such a road trip, let me know (I tend to keep OCD levels of detail). Great place Portugal, and driving there and in Spain was far more pleasant than over here.

excellent...we did a trip last year and covered 3000miles in 10 days through the Nordics and back through Germany and France - again, not a single issue with the car...and what a great GT it made 
Whatever anyone says, the Vantage is the first daily driver Aston there has been in my eyes (and one of the reasons I bought it)....Im sure you could use a DB9 daily for going to the shops, but not for my 20K miles a year plus I was doing regularly until this year
