V8 Vantage Running Report?
Discussion
Hi chaps
Being a long standing Porsche fan and marque addict, I've recently come across
a very nice looking Vantage in Tungsten....After 2 997's am thinking about a change
and was wondering if there are any thing to look out for when buying/evaluating and or
any reliability issues on from say a 06 car?
Thanks

They're pretty solid, mines an 06 and i've had it since new, you'll find a few gripes on here regarding 2nd gear and a couple of bits but nothing serious worth worrying about. Buy one, you'll love it. Being a long standing Porsche fan and marque addict, I've recently come across

Forza, I too am a long term Porsche owner, love em to bit's, worked my way up to 996TT & 997GT3! All I can say is the Aston is a completely different experience & it has called me back after the GT3 as I have just taken delivery of my second AMV8.
My advice is to give the V8 a try it makes a complete & refreshing change from Pork, reliability isn't as good but its not bad & ownership of the Aston is much more emotive, so you'll forgive most of its foibles!
Now get out there & start choosing

I have had mine since March 06 and has been totally reliable (apart from a squeaky belt), it has been my most reliable car to date, toy car (a couple of Porsches, Elise etc) and family car included (I think I am a bit hard on the family cars!). Try and pick a honey, as there are defo good and bad cars out there.
I repair and service these on a daily basis even some high mileage amv8's that are hire cars, which are severely abused (breaks my heart), 99% of repairs are straight forward normal stuff you can expect on any vehicle, Most of the cars i see are used on a daily basis and are reliable, they are fantastic and still get my pulse racing every time i drive one, yes they do have some minor faults, name a car that hasn't
