Is it possible to retro-fit the new style centre console?
Discussion
I've been considering a used DB9 for a while now but am finding that I'm more drawn to the shape of the Vanquish. That said, the interior really lets it down for me and I just can't imagine spending £70-£90k on a car that has a tape player!!! Does anyone know if it's possible to retro-fit the new style Vanquish centre console (with Sat Nav etc) to an older Vanquish?
Probably a daft question so apologies in advance.
Thanks,
Gixxer.

Have recently purchased a Vanq, with the old style dash. Have grown quite attched to it, myself. I personally think the later dash looks very plastic, in comparison.

ps.. best mod is the Exhaust valve switch, which enables permanent V12 growl.. along with a permanent grin to match! Aston works fitted this for me, for the princely sum of 400 guineas.

The great thing about Astons is that everything is possible in order to customize your Aston. The downside is the cost. Aston Works Service I am sure will be happy to retrofit a new centre console into your car but the costs will be prohibitive so you might as well go for an 07 MY. However, I am with Kurgen on this and find the older dash more suitable for the Vanquish. Some people have covered the central facia with leather which looks really nice.

Looking at this from the perspective of an older car connoisseur, if I may describe myself as such, you would be better keeping your car 'original' than fking it about in the interests of supposed improved appearance, which in the end in just personal taste.
If the car is basically great, as I am sure it is, won't you get used to it? If not, I don't think it is going to be helped by giving it a max power makeover.

I really do agree with you. It's not my usual way, but I just can't imagine driving a Vanquish with a TomTom stuck to the windscreen. If the car is basically great, as I am sure it is, won't you get used to it? If not, I don't think it is going to be helped by giving it a max power makeover.
IMO, the last run of cars with the updated dash are by far the nicer looking place to be in
When I first saw the last run of cars with the latest dash in place (a special run by Max Power apparently ), it just looked 'right' and as it should have done all along.
As someone has already mentioned, it is down to personal taste, so it's your money, and if you want it, go for it........and my two pence worth says it will look much better for it and you will not be disappointed
