Also France trip - tips?

I'm taking the Vantage to Perpignan early Oct for the first continental stretching of its legs. Anyone got any tips for where to stay en route, say around a third of the way down? Somewhere nice but not stupidly expensive (wife staying at home so just me...). Realise this isn't specifically an Aston question but tend to find intelligent comments here rather than the bilge on other forums!

Also I guess i'll need to get the headlamps adjusted for overseas driving - how many arms will that cost?

Looking forward to those nice sparsely filled M-ways...though my brother got done last year there and I'm told that if you go over 180kph they'll take your keys there and then....
