DSC warning light

My 07 MY has just thrown it's first DSC warning light and service required message after having been parked unused for 24 hours.
I've read most of the posts about this and am aware of the possible causes and therefore am not too unduly worried about it for the time being, but my question is: is the DSC really disabled, or does the glitch that causes the warning to be activated when the car hasn't been used just cause that particular message to be displayed ?

Going to take it out in a moment to see if that clears the warning, and as I don't normally take it to the limits of adhesion on public roads assume that I can quite happily toddle around in it until I get time to get it to Chichester where according to the majority of posters it seems to be a "while you wait" fix ?
