Hi all, pre owned V8 Vantages seem to be offering tremendous value for money at the mo and seem now to be within my radar. Testing a 2006 (early) 7k miler tomorrow, it looks absolutely pristine in Onyx black, well specced too - dealer selling it (not a main AM). Would it be rude to ask on here what the price should be?

Your best bet is to have a look on the classifieds.

Agree with doing your research. Be careful to compare spec sheets carefully. Might not add shed loads to the bottom line, but likely to be more saleable later if it has a long list of options (and Aston did a BMW/Merc in this respect - big options list to keep the base price "down").

I'd guess at mid-50s.

yeah, mid 50's about right. though more toward 50 for an 06 plate now i think, esp if not via a main dealer. when i was looking a month ago, I found a couple of 06 with 10k miles for around £53k (from non-Aston dealers), and two 56 plates for £57k (privately) if that's any help.

This one looks good, although I'm a little biased!

Paid £56k for my 06 with similar low miles in absolute prestine condition and just serviced, this is from a main AM dealer with extended warranty and such.

Would assume you may be able to get similar for a little less if not an AM dealer? Still over 50's

Richard that looks one hell of a car and your price looks about where I'm at - I've put in an offer for above car and am waiting to hear back from them - hope to be a Vantage owner pretty soon....

My old car is on the Stratstone website for just under £55k, with 11 month warranty left. Much the same spec as the previous poster, with 10k miles, so there are certainly reasonable price dealer cars out there with all the toys...

One (obsessive!) owner so immaculate too .... biggrin

Guys

This may sound cheeky, but what the heck. I am considering changing my Porsche Cayman for a V8 Vantage and would like to pay as little as possible (but who wouldn't in this climate).

I am comfortable about buying privately if it means saving money. The question I have is how much are the AMDs offering for part ex V8s on 06 plates (average spec).

It strikes me that if I can bung someone an extra grand or so it would make sense for them to sell to me direct rather than trading it in? What would be the best way to go about this? I have seen some "wanted" posters in the classifieds - does anyone ever respond to these?

Thanks

I wonder if there are people asking the same thing on Cayman fora wink

Bids from dealers will depend on why the seller is selling. Could be a couple of k under typical sticker (p/ex), could be 10k under (wolves at the door and undesirable spec). You'll need to find out the scoop for your particular prospectives wink
