When I picked mine up the dealer had a "PureGuard" protection put on the car which came with a cleaning kit and such.
But no polish. I assume its OK to use a good polish once ive washed the bloody thing? Anyone recommend a good polish? Zymol?
Also what do you use to give your leather interiors a wipe?

...yup - I do the leather every 3-4 months or so, smells nice, no more mucky fingermarks etc on the doors, its a daily drive so gets well used and needs a good treatment now and then
wax wise, well I had mine polymer coated at Gtechniq as im a lazy bugger and just like to give it a quick wash and have it looking freshly waxed each time...so far 15 months on its working im afraid Im a bit of a cynic when it comes to expensive waxes, no matter what the cost Ive never had anything thats lasted more than a couple of months so gave up a couple of years ago !

I agree, I don't have a "modern" Aston, mine's 50 years old but I do have a Griff 500 which I've owned from new and I use Autoglym leather cleaner and leather food on it annually. I'm also cynical about these £200 pots of moon-cheese wax! I reckon the finish is as good as the amount of elbow grease you put in and I use P21 wax (now known as P222) which is about £20 a pot. Works perfectly and is a treat to use Rich...
Mine had the PureGuard treatment too. Included in the bag of random chemicals was a bottle of something to add to a final rinse every other wash. I've found this helps keep up the shine and beading to the extent that I've never felt the need to polish the car.
I can't remember off-hand what it's called but check in your goodie bag, it's definitely worth using.

Yes I have the goodie bag, but I feel the need to polish rather than wash with a treatment twice!I can't remember off-hand what it's called but check in your goodie bag, it's definitely worth using.
I just got some Meguiar's Gold Class Car wash and then a Liquid Wax to apply afterwards... Having done it only once I can highly recommend it

fwiw a local car body shop and leather repair centre advised me to use whatever World of Leather (or whatever they are called) recommend for leather furniture for cleaning the leather inside the car. They wouldnt recommend any off the shelf bespoke car stuff as they didnt rate any of them. Having used a few myself I would tend to agree. I clean my leather with some 303 cleaner (I got from The Polishing Company) as and when required.
To get a permanent leather smell in the cabin they recommended putting a small chamois under each seat (honest!!)
cheers

Let's be careful here, we don't want to peer into the abyss of Detailing World...
Driving first, polishing later.
Much later.

I assume that you got it from Stratstone then as that is their equivalent of Supagard. But no polish. I assume its OK to use a good polish once ive washed the bloody thing? Anyone recommend a good polish? Zymol?

I wouldn't put too much faith in what they have done. There are a lot more people out there who know more about this than me, but I contacted a very nice bunch called Performance Motorcare who sold me a clay bar, a lubricant, and a three stage Meguiar's 'Gold' product, along with special pads and cloths to apply and buff it. The net result was as good as I am ever likely to achieve. Alternatively, you can call in the professionals.
