So picked up the 06 plate one in meteorite this weekend. Have to say, when I'd paid the cash and the salesman waved me away, i felt almost the same as I did when I'd passed my driving test 25 years ago and was allowed out on my own for the first time! However the driving gingerly lasted only a few miles....took it up to the Lake District - highly recommended as if you keep off the A roads and head for the mountains and fells, very little traffic. Just mind out for the terminally stupid sheep.

So regret not getting the Fuse 22 switch put in - that roar is unbelievable. So regret not having my own petrol refinery too. Stereo tiny bit disappointing - it's just not very loud - when out of town I do like to crank it up a bit, and my eardrums hardly vibrate when the volume is on max. Only other problem was getting back into London and the bd traffic, and leaving it outside for the night - kept wanting to check on it...

Fantastic car. In fact, it's time for a lunchtime drive I think.

Get the valves left permanently open/closed (can never remember which way round it is) - saves having to fish around in the boot for F22 and sounds good ALL the time. Shouldn't disturb your neighbours too much.

My son keeps turning the volume up on the stereo and I keep turning it down. That's because I want to hear the exhaust note and not the music - he says it's cos I'm old - cheeky blighter.

Jealous - missing mine like crazy whilst working abroad. Seeing a LHD all-white AMV8 prowling the other night didn't help.

Like they say on Crimewatch - "don't have nightmares"

£300 for works service to fit the little switch. Go on - drop it off at Works and have a poke around, see what else they have the workshop. Great way to spend a morning....

Congrats on the new toy, bet she looks stunning in Meteorite!

I'd play around with the stereo's bass, treble & balance, I had an 06 car with standard stereo & was initially disappointed, once set up correctly it was brilliant!

Sounds to me like you only have the standard audio in? Mine is so loud that at half volume I can"t hear what my passenger is saying and he is being bounced off the roof by the the sub which vents behind his seat smile

I am in the final stages of buying mine (07) And lucky so far the car is fitted with the Upgrade Linn pack. I would be honest to say if it is set up well its very good. Just do not expect to have your ears buzzing from "distortion" this is what most people think is "volume" !!

Still thinking of having mine upgraded even more. Might get Linn to play around i imagine the have turned the gains down a lot by default

Just pull the fuse. Takes 5mins and is free.

My stereo's also very loud if desired, but it is the upgraded unit.

Why are you all talking about stereo upgrades when the real music comes from the exhaust?
Pull fuse 22 and you'll forget the car has a stereo

yeah, the standard audio is what i've got. don't get me wrong, quality is great though. will have a play and see what more i can crank out. and i think a quick £300 trip to the works is exactly what the doctor ordered...

Good to hear that you are enjoying your new motor. Your Lake district experience went a little better than mine... All was going well until i tried to squeeze the car up the wrynose pass. I have done it before with ease in a 911, but the Vantage is just a little too wide and low- I was gutted when I grazed an alloy.

If that wasn't annoying enough, I later managed to hit a stray rock on a the road side, cracking two alloys in the process. My poor vantage spent a couple of days on a trailer... frown

Thanks Bmartin, will put some pics up shortly. Stanwan - ouch on your alloys! As i say, the main danger was sheep on my Ullswater-Wastwater trip. Actually, the main danger was a dead sheep to be precise - rounded a corner and there was one on its back, four feet in the air, stone dead in the middle of the road. Must have been hit by someone earlier poor bugger.

Now that I'm back in London sheep less of a problem (unless you count 911 owners of course...);)

Just to add - I got mine yesturday and was expecting to be disappointed by the stereo after reading several threads.. but its the exact opposite.

I havent been able to get to max volume yet and it sounds stunning... and after some tweaking (make sure you go all the way into the actual EQ settings and not just bass/treble stuff) its absolutely fantastic.....
